This latest device could see some major changes with Apple expected to produce something special to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.
Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, unveiled the company’s first ever smartphone in January 2007 and the US technology giant has since gone on to sell over one billion iPhones across the world.
We’re expecting to see all the usual upgrades on the new iPhone 8 including faster processor, improved camera and better battery life.
However, a new report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Chinese research firm TrendForce suggest that the iPhone 8 will almost certainly have a feature that’s never been seen on an Apple smartphone before - a curved display.
There’s already been plenty of reports that Apple is planning to introduce an AMOLED screen on its new iPhone but this latest rumour now suggests it will curve subtly around the edge of the device.
Arch-rival Samsung has been bending their screens for a number of years and the Galaxy S8, which launches on March 29th, is expected to take this technology to new level with a screen that will cover almost the entire front of the phone.
It’s thought Apple won’t copy Samsung’s full curve but instead gently push the display around the edges of the case.
Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive is reportedly designing the phone so that it resembles "a single sheet of glass".
Apple is hotly-tipped to ditch the physical Home Button from the front of the smartphone, so that it can reduce the bezels around the display.
But the dramatic changes planned for the next iPhone will not just be surface-deep.
According to a new research note from UBS, Apple has put together a team of more than 1,000 engineers working on Augmented Reality (AR) technology ready for the iPhone.
