A Reddit leak suggested the highly anticipated patch, which brings with it external HDD support, would go live today.
And while that so far has not happened VG 24/7 said a release for the PS4 4.50 update could happen either today or on Wednesday March 8.
They wrote: "Although Sony has yet to announce an official release date, a launch this week makes a lot of sense. Typically, PS4 firmware updates spend about a month in beta testing, so a March 7 or even March 8 release is very likely."
The beta period for PS4 4.50 update began on February 3. The news comes as the official Ask PlayStation account said a release date for the patch was not confirmed.
They tweeted to one user: “Unfortunately we still don’t have an official release yet, please keep check our official Blog for updates.”
ORIGINAL: While we have not been given a set release time for the new update, a leak suggests we are just hours away from the PS4 4.50 update.
The update, codenamed Sasuke, has already been tested by PS4 owners lucky enough to be selected for the beta programme in February.
The PS4 4.50 update features external HDD support, custom wallpapers, quick menu refresh, a simplified notification list and 3D Blu-ray support for Playstation VR.
It will also PS4 owners to post directly on Playstation Network activity feeds.
The PS4 4.50 is expected to launch today after a Playstation Support rep confirmed to a Reddit user that it will launch on March 7.
