Apple gets a self-driving test permit in California

According to the California DMV site, Apple was granted a permit to test self-driving cars on the streets of California and Apple was added to the list of holders of the self-driving test cars in California on Friday, including Google, Tesla, BMW, Honda, Ford, Nissan And others.

There are several steps to obtain a self-driving auto-test permit, including displaying the details of the vehicle that has been identified for testing, suggesting that Apple will have a type of programmed car that will be ready to be tested on the road.

All companies involved in these tests must report how many miles the vehicle has made using self-driving. This information will be posted on the DMV website when Apple reports.

Apple's acceptance of the self-driving test program confirms that Apple is working on a project related to the automotive world, but apparently instead of private cars, it operates on a system that works on cars.

Apple is developing its self-driving system under the leadership of Bob Mansfield, which makes Apple an opportunity to participate in the automotive industry with other companies or to manufacture its own cars in the future, and executives of the company to give a deadline until the end of 2017 to the team working on the self-driving system to prove its efficiency. The company's approval of the self-driving test is proof of the progress of the project.

According to the DMV spokesperson, Apple will rely on three Lexus RX450h cars for self-driving and testing.
