For a long time, Google has been launching periodic transparency reports that reveal the volume of government requests for user data through its various services such as Google Mail, Google Plus, YouTube and others.
Yesterday, the company revealed its latest figures in this context, which witnessed an unprecedented rise. Government requests for data from Google reached 45,000 in the second half of 2016, the highest in the history of Google since the publication of Transparency Reports in 2010.
Of these applications, the company disclosed that there are approximately 31,000 applications from government agencies outside the United States. These requests are usually received on the basis of judicial orders in different countries.
It is noteworthy that many major technical authorities have begun to apply this new privacy policy - transparency reports - after Prism scandal revealed the cooperation of these companies with the US security agencies, specifically the National Security Agency of America.
